Bahrain New Year 2026 Drone Show | 2,500 Drone Celebrate Bahrain

Bahrain
New Year 2026
— Drone Show

On New Year's Eve 2025, MIRS Drone Show delivered Bahrain's largest-ever drone show, a 2,500-drone aerial spectacular deployed simultaneously across 8 landmark locations as the closing act of the Celebrate Bahrain season. From the Bahrain World Trade Center to Bahrain Bay, the kingdom's sky came alive with national pride, light, and motion at the stroke of midnight.

Mission Objective

The Brief

The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) commissioned MIRS Drone Show to headline the closing celebration of the Celebrate Bahrain season, Bahrain's flagship national tourism and events programme. The mission: produce the kingdom's most ambitious drone show to date, with a fleet large enough to be visible simultaneously across 8 strategic locations in Manama and the wider Bahrain Bay waterfront.

The show needed to reflect Bahrain's national identity, cultural pride, and modern ambition in a single 10-minute aerial performance at midnight on New Year's Eve 2025, with the entire kingdom watching live.

Bahrain's Largest-Ever Drone Show

MIRS deployed 2,500 drones, including 1,100 pyrotechnic drones reaching altitudes of up to 400 metres. The synchronized aerial display lit up the sky above Bahrain Bay Beach, Bahrain World Trade Center, Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay, Bahrain Harbour, The Avenues, Seef District, Marassi, and the Manama waterfront bridge corridor, making it the most geographically expansive drone performance in Bahrain's history. Press coverage from the Daily Tribune Bahrain, ARY News, and Lovin Bahrain confirmed the show as a national milestone.

Creative Performance Design

A Sky Canvas for National Pride

The Celebrate Bahrain show was designed to feel unmistakably Bahraini. The creative sequence moved through a narrative arc of national identity, opening with the Bahrain national emblem and coat of arms rendered in drone light over the Manama skyline, before shifting into cultural figures, Arabic calligraphy, and the iconic "Celebrate Bahrain" message that defined the entire season.

Pyrotechnic Drones at 400 Metres

Among the 2,500-drone fleet, 1,100 were pyrotechnic units capable of reaching 400 metres altitude, far above the standard ceiling for conventional drone shows. This allowed the formations to be visible across all 8 simultaneous display locations, creating a unified sky experience from Bahrain Bay Beach to the Manama bridge corridor, with no audience missing the spectacle regardless of where they gathered.

  • Bahrain national emblem The kingdom's coat of arms rendered in synchronized drone light above the Manama waterfront as the show's opening formation
  • Arabic calligraphy formations "Celebrate Bahrain" scripted in Arabic and English drone text — the typographic centrepiece of the Celebrate Bahrain season finale
  • Cultural figure sequences Traditional Bahraini figures and human silhouettes animated in motion across the night sky, celebrating the people of Bahrain
  • Happy New Year 2026 finale The show closed with the full "Happy New Year 2026" formation above Bahrain Bay, timed to the midnight countdown

On-Site Execution

8 Locations. One Synchronized Sky.

Running a single drone show is a complex operation. Coordinating 2,500 drones to perform the same sequence simultaneously across 8 geographically separated locations required a level of operational planning far beyond a standard single-site event. Every launch position, flight path, and formation timing had to be coordinated to ensure a seamless, simultaneous sky experience visible across the entire Manama Bay coastline.

New Year's Eve Precision

New Year's Eve drone shows operate on a zero-tolerance schedule. The midnight countdown is fixed, the audience is gathered, and every aerial cue must hit exactly on time. MIRS coordinated the 10-minute drone sequence with fireworks, the Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay 3D light projections, and the live countdown to deliver a unified event experience that ran without interruption from midnight across all locations simultaneously.
