Deloitte
Drone Light Show
— KLCC Park
In October 2024, MIRS Drone Show opened Deloitte’s Southeast Asia Partners Conference with a 500-drone spectacular above KLCC Park, Kuala Lumpur. The aerial performance marked Deloitte SEA’s 25th anniversary, writing brand formations across the Petronas Twin Towers skyline before an audience of senior partners assembled from across Southeast Asia.
Mission Objective
The Brief
Deloitte tasked MIRS with designing the opening spectacular for their Southeast Asia Partners Conference 2024: a large-scale drone show above KLCC Park marking Deloitte SEA’s 25th anniversary before the assembled regional partner cohort. The brief required recognisable brand formations, a cultural nod to Southeast Asia’s diverse heritage, and a performance clean enough for internal broadcast and social media capture. MIRS was engaged to deliver the full production, from choreography to CAAM airspace approval.
More Than Marketing
The Deloitte SEA Partners Conference is the firm’s highest-tier regional gathering, convening senior partners from every Southeast Asian member country. For the milestone 25th anniversary edition, Deloitte chose a skyline-scale drone show as the opening evening event rather than a conventional gala act. KLCC Park, set against the Petronas Twin Towers, provided both the grid space for 500 drones and the instantly recognisable Kuala Lumpur backdrop needed to anchor the visual as a region-defining moment.
Mission Assets

Creative Performance Design
Designing for a City Skyline
Operating at KLCC Park places the drone grid inside one of Kuala Lumpur’s most complex airspace corridors, directly adjacent to the Petronas Twin Towers. Every formation required CAAM approval and precise altitude mapping to clear the twin-spire flight restriction zone while remaining legible at ground level. Ambient city lighting from the KLCC precinct also demanded high-contrast formation designs and tight drone spacing to maintain visual clarity against a bright urban backdrop.
Narrative Arc & Camera Strategy
The show opened with a dragon formation circling the Petronas Twin Towers, a direct reference to Southeast Asia’s Chinese cultural heritage shared across Deloitte’s member markets. From there, the fleet contracted into a dense sphere before expanding outward above the crowd. The centrepiece was a full “ONE FIRM” text formation spanning the twin-tower backdrop, a direct render of Deloitte’s internal identity. The sequence concluded with the 25th anniversary numerals held against the Kuala Lumpur skyline, before the fleet dispersed in a cascading gold finale visible across KLCC Park.
- Brand-precise typography “ONE FIRM” and “25” numeral rendered in 500-drone formation against the Petronas Twin Towers skyline
- Cultural resonance Dragon formation opening referencing the SEA region’s shared Chinese cultural heritage across Deloitte’s member markets
- CAAM-approved altitude design Every formation altitude-mapped within KLCC’s flight restriction corridors, preserving clean Twin Tower sightlines
- Broadcast-optimised choreography Sequence designed for clean capture in conference recap video, LinkedIn posts and Deloitte’s internal broadcast
On-Site Execution
Pre-Show Planning
MIRS managed the full CAAM approval process for drone operations at KLCC Park, coordinating with the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia to secure flight permissions in one of the country’s most regulated airspace zones. Ground logistics were planned around the conference evening schedule, with the 500-drone grid positioned across KLCC Park for optimal sightlines from the gathering venue. Pre-flight rehearsals confirmed formation altitudes and crowd clearance within the approved operational envelope.
Day-of Operations
On the opening evening of the Deloitte SEA Partners Conference in October 2024, MIRS ground crews deployed the 500-drone fleet across KLCC Park as senior partners gathered for the gala. The show launched at the scheduled event cue, sequencing through the dragon, sphere, “ONE FIRM” and 25th anniversary formations over approximately 15 minutes. The Petronas Twin Towers served as the anchor point for every formation, maximising visual impact for the conference audience below. Post-show, MIRS delivered production footage for Deloitte’s internal broadcast and social media teams.
